The Scientist...

As a chemist, my love for all of the sciences runs deep. I graduated from my undergraduate institution thinking I would become a physical chemist. However, as a doctoral student, I focused on the applied aspects of traditional chemistry and worked on an interdisciplinary research project involving solution-phase nanocrystal characterization and bioconjugate chemistry.

What this all means is that I do not fit neatly within any of the traditional chemistry subdisciplines, but the diverse skills set I obtained transcends the need to categorize what type of chemist I am. My applied background has enabled me to interact with and advise scientists from different backgrounds. I am a problem-solver who has a reputation for getting the job done. I have experience designing research agendas appropriate for multiple skill levels. I also advise scientists on the actual laboratory experiments that need to be conducted and serve as a sounding board for achieving scientific journal article publications.

I am comfortable interacting with scientists from many disciplines, but my specialties are nanotechnology and the application of nanomaterials in traditional materials.
